What is the cost of attending Nursing INSPIRE?
If you meet the financial eligibility requirements, your tuition will be covered by Lake County Workforce Development. If you do not qualify, you will be required to pay the Certified Nursing Assistant tuition component of the program, which is $1300.
Who is a competitive applicant?
How much time will I need to invest to succeed in the program?
Nursing INSPIRE is an-eight week summer program which runs from June to August. You will spend an average of seven hours per day in the classroom and twelve hours a week studying and doing homework.
Can I attend the program if I am already a CNA?
Yes. You will attend classes one day a week on Thursday at Rosalind Franklin University to participate in the professional development portion of the curriculum.
Will transportation be provided?
We are collaborating with Lake County Workforce Development (LCWD) on options for transportation. Otherwise, you are expected to make arrangements to be present at the various training sites.
What happens once I successfully complete Nursing INSPIRE?
Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to sit for the certification examination to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and seek employment in one of the local health care systems. You can also earn a and be conditionally admitted into Â鶹ӰÒô’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) for Entry-to-Practice (ENP) program MSN-ENP degree program from high school.

Yes. While Nursing INSPIRE focuses on exposing you to a vast array of nursing careers, we understand you are early in your career decision. Regardless if you are strongly considering a career in healthcare, you will benefit from the program and the impact that higher education can have on your future.
Is Nursing INSPIRE a paid internship program?
Yes. You will earn a stipend. This is a work-study program and you are paid a stipend so your efforts are focused on learning and passing the certification exam. We highly encourage you not to work so you are successful in the program.
Can I work in addition to the program?
Due to the condensed nature of the CNA curriculum and the full time nature of the program, we strongly advise against students seeking additional employment. This will ensure you have time to master the material and be successful on the CNA certification exam.
What commitment are parents required to make?
You and your parents have the opportunity to attend a Financial Aid training session. It will help you and your parents better understand how to finance your college education. Parents receive a stipend for participating in the training which is offered in English and Spanish.
